Faith and Works
We all agree that Jesus has fulfilled all the requirements of the law so that when we have believed in Him, we are perfect in front of God. His salvation is so complete that all our incompleteness can be saved when we trust and focus on Him and His great salvation alone. No more "hard working" in order to act like a fellow of Christ. There shouldn't be any struggling or sorrow. When our belief is in the right track, we will have a fruitful life naturally. All these are crystal clear.
Believing includes receiving (接受), trusting (倚靠), and committing (交託). Receiving involves choosing (揀選). And consecrating (or offering), actually, is a kind of choosing -- that is choosing Jesus to be our Master, our Lord. This involves knowing the riches of Jesus Christ and having faith on Him. If we know He is the best "choice" and believe His way is the most blessing way, we will choose Him and like to present ourselves to Him. Just like the servant of the Old Testament piercing his ear (denoting his willingness to serve his master for his whole life) because his master is so good. Some "do"s that Bible ask us to do, like "let Christ reign in you", "present ourselves unto God, as alive from dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God", "seek those things which is above" are kinds of consecrating or choosing, which are a presentations of believing. Therefore, believing and consecrating are two but one. Consecrating or choosing emphasize on action (動作), and believing emphasize on mind (心思).
Let's put it in another way. There are two kinds of Christians who have fallen from Grace. The first kind are those who want to please the Lord or act like fellows of Christ by their own strength. The second kind are those who focus only on their own interests. The first kind have fallen from the Unity(合一). The second kind have fallen from the Lordship(主權). Both are due to the problem of faith. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus (Lordship), and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead (Unity), thou shalt be SAVED."
